Slabjacking, or the art of raising settled and sunken concrete has undergone a revolution since 2003 when the Uretek patent for Slabjacking with geo-polymer foam came off protection.
Up until that point the only option was to pump “mud” a mixture of soil and Portland cement under the concrete to hydraulically raise it back to grade, this is what had been used since the 1930’s
In 2003 everything changed, the patent expired allowing contractors to use a far superior method. Smaller holes, fewer holes and polymers that could be manufactured to meet the design specifications of drastically different requirements.
Light duty polymers for void filling economically, polymers designed to travel along concrete joints where “slab curl” is problem, and heavy polymers that are D.O.T. approved to raise and support thick freeway slabs, even polymers that penetrate and solidify organic soils.
Slabjack Geotechnical is proud to use our custom hydrophobic approved polymer for our daily use material. We feel it is the best polymer on the market today.
