One of the services we provide is crack filling and crack repair. The one is a preventative step taken to reduce settling and improve the aesthetics of the concrete without regard to flex or movement along the crack. The other to actually “weld” the concrete back together and as much as possible stabilize the crack line from any movement.
Why is this movement a concern? With interior concrete you may want to lay tile or other hard surfaces, these require an unbroken or at least an unmoving base, otherwise tile/slate/marble/travertine/etc.. will either pop off or crack.
The other reason is that as slabs move along the crack line further deterioration occurs. This movement results from vehicle traffic and thermal differences between summer/winter and even between day and night.
One of the advantages of Geo-polymer Slabjacking is the fantastic job of undersealing concrete it does. When we raise concrete along a crack line, in addition to leveling the concrete we “stitch” the slab back together by making injections that bridge the entire crack. This is something other methods of concrete leveling cannot do.
