SETTLING FOUNDATION?

Foundation settling is one of the most dreaded concerns for a property owner. If not treated properly major problems can occur rendering your property unsellable.

What should you do? Act sooner rather than later. If caught quickly enough Slabjack Geotechnical is one of the very few contractors in the nation trained to offer deep injection of polyurethane to stabilize and often raise your foundation back to grade. (Available spring 2018) This process is much less costly than piering in many cases when settling is minor or to firm up weak soils to prevent settling.

Most property owners are not experts and should seek out a qualified foundation repair contractor. These experts however do not work without receiving imput from Geotechnical and Structural Engineers to properly address the unique issues with your individual property. Slabjack Geotechnical requires a Geotechnical and Structural Engineer stamp on every piering project we do.

The process usually starts with a site visit where measurements are taken and the structure is visibly inspected. A frank discussion about the potential costs as well as the foundation repair process are discussed. Once a firm decision has been made to move forward a contract will be signed and the initial payment will be made to cover the cost of the materials. After the reports have been provided a plan will be made to stabilize and attempt to lift the foundation back to original grade.  When the materials have been delivered the job will be scheduled and the work completed at which point final payment is due. Slabjack Geotechnical works with Green Sky financial for those interested in our available financing.

Foundation repair often involves the disruption of plantings, the damaging of sprinkler systems, the removal of fencing and more. Access is needed to get equipment such as mini excavators or skid steers into position to dig the holes needed to place the piers that will stabilize the foundation. Slabjack Geotechnical makes every effort to minimize damage but the nature of operating equipment in confined spaces lends itself to some degree of disruption/damage. After the repair has been made Slabjack Geotechnical will backfill and level the site in preparation for landscape repairs arranged by the property owner.
