We just recently completed a residential Seawall stabilization project in Bellingham using a single component polyurethane to permeate the soil behind the wall and to seal cold joints.
Using a single component polyurethane mixed with a catalyst that reacts with water, Slabjack Geotechnical is able to inject material deep behind the wall which permeates the soil and return stability to the Seawall or Bulkhead.
This method is by fa the safest way to stabilize Seawalls and bulkheads. Plural component polyurethane can place enormous lateral stress against the wall and cause damage such as bowing, in the case of walls, or in the case of bulkheads, moving rocks out of position or worse.
There are applications where plural component polymers make sense but they are not as thorough at sealing cold joints, filling underneath footers and creating a watertight barrier behind the wall.
